Draw & Teach Basketball Plays Easily With Play Lab

Draw it. Run it. Teach it. Try Play Lab Pro free for 14 days.

I built Play Lab for coaches who are tired of whiteboard photos, messy diagrams and plays that only make sense in their own head. Put your players on a real court, tap a player, pick the action and watch the play run step by step, the way you’d teach it in practice.

Built for how coaches actually draw plays

Tap any player and choose a cut, dribble, pass, screen, hand off or shot, then tap where it goes. Cuts curl the way players really move. Run a down screen and the cut off it at the same time, mark a line as an option to show a read, and break a set into frames so you can teach it one piece at a time.

Defense that reacts like a real one

The defense moves when your play runs. Help side, deny one pass away and closeouts happen on their own. Pick from 21 defenses and presses, including man, Pack Line, the 2-3, 3-2 and 1-3-1 zones, matchup zones, box-and-1, triangle-and-2 and full court presses. Your players see what the defense will do, not just where they’re supposed to run.

Describe it and the AI draws it

Type a play the way you’d call it in a timeout, like “4 down screens for 2, 2 cuts to the corner, 5 slips to the rim,” and Play Lab puts the players on the floor and animates it. You can even upload a short clip of game film and it builds the play from what it sees.

Your playbook on every device, ready to share

Sign in with email or Google and your plays follow you from your laptop at home to your phone on the bench. Sort them into playbooks, print PDF playbooks, make videos for film sessions, and turn any play into a Reel, TikTok or YouTube video with a caption ready to paste.
